During the next month, our community will be enjoying several of our favorite annual festivals — from Lowcountry literature to historic homes, there’s an event for every member of the family to enjoy!
2016 FALL FESTIVAL OF HOUSES & GARDENS
Get an exclusive look into the privately owned homes, plantations and gardens throughout historic Beaufort in the Fall Festival of Houses & Gardens. The event takes place on Friday, Oct. 28 through Sunday, Oct. 30, and will offer three tours, including a Walking Tour, the Ramble Around Beaufort tour and the Kitchens & Cuisine Tour.
Take part in the Beaufort tradition of trick-or-treating in downtown as the community welcomes families to the Bay Street area from 4:30 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 27. Kids of all ages can visit more than 65 stores and businesses for treats as several downtown streets are closed down to traffic throughout the evening. The event is free and open to the public.
PENN CENTER HERITAGE DAYS
This year welcomes the 34th Annual Heritage Days Celebration on Thursday, Nov. 10 through Sunday, Nov. 13. This three-day event celebrates the rich history of the Gullah Geechee and Sea Islands with folk art, food, music, crafts, live entertainment and more. Join us at the historic Penn Center for this homecoming celebration honoring the founding of Penn School and all things Gullah Geechee.
