Joe and Lynne traded ice and snow for some of the best weather in the East.
My wife and I lived in Pennsylvania for most of our adult life, and eventually the snow, ice and lack of sunshine began to make life unbearable. So, after four years of retirement, we moved to a community nearby Hilton Head last year.
It was hard leaving three grandchildren behind, but the close proximity to the beach, excellent food and great Southern hospitality will certainly add quality years to life!
Moving here cut our expenses in half. We were paying rent for an apartment in State College and instead we now have two bedrooms. It's perfect for us.
There are a lot of recreational activities in the Hilton Head area: ocean, parks, and bicycle paths. We're 20 minutes from the beach and from Savannah and an hour from Charleston. Why do we love it the most? No snow!
