There are robots among us!
In case you didn’t know, there are robots in your home. They may be harmless, helpful, and lack any characteristics one would associate with robots, but they are there nonetheless.
If you’ve got children, then you may have a legitimate robot lurking around, complete with arms and legs and a voice. These robots don’t really have feelings and can only do what they are programmed to do, but they have come a long way since the beginning of robot toys!
Or perhaps a baby doll that does pretty much everything a real baby does (cry, whine, need a diaper changing), only just for fun. When I put it that way, it doesn’t seem like so much fun. And yes, this is indeed a robot!
Now before you grab all of the toys in your house and frantically try to dismantle them, remember, they are only toys.
The Roomba, on the other hand, is a robot that is not a toy. But, it is helpful. The Roomba is a vacuum that rolls around your floor of its own accord, sucking up whatever dust and dirt it finds. If you have one of these, you never have to vacuum (manually) again!
Japan has lent the U.S. a lot of technology, including a ton of robot technology. Chicks are one kind of robot anyone would want in their home. And I don’t mean those kind of chicks. Robotic, baby chicks. They’re cuddly, affordable and make a great companion to a child, or the elderly living alone.
They chirp and hop around, look very realistic, and cry a little when you don’t give them attention. Who could ignore that cute ball of fluff?
