Tomorrow is the official start of this year's Beaufort Water Festival. And it is just in time. Some of the hottest weather of the summer has hit South Carolina. If you live in an apartment in Ridgeland, SC, you have probably spent some time in the pool and even more time trying to figure out other ways to stay cool.

Here is a great way to beat the heat this weekend. Tomorrow is the official start of the 56th annual celebration of music, food, art, and “just about anything fun you can do on the water” at The Beaufort Water Festival.

The Opening Ceremony is July 15 at 7, but gates open at 6pm. The ceremony features the Parris Island Marine Band and a spectacular fireworks Show at dusk. Free admission.

Saturday, July 16th is the raft race, bocce tournament, art and craft market, kids toad fishing, all kinds of boat tours, a sailing regatta, ski show, and concert in the park. Plus, much more.

Just some of the fun on Sunday, July 17th offers boat bingo, boat tours, a teen dance, and the continued sailing regatta.

But the fun continues through next Sunday. So be sure to check it out. Come and cool down at the Beaufort Water Festival. The apartment pool will still be there in August!

These boys may look wholesome, but the know how to rock it out!

These old-time rock and roll guys will be performing after Freedom Fest, a day filled will fun, rides, dancing, face painting, arts and crafts, karate demonstrations, music, and food.

This Freedom Fest is taking place at 9935 Jacob Smart Blvd. in Ridgeland and is free for all! Entry into The Swingin’ Medallions will cost $10 for adults!

The Hilton Head Seafood Festival offers up some of the best seafood in the area, for less than you’d pay for a night out!

Get in for $5 and sample the best of the participation restaurant’s for $2 to $5 a sample!

The Fourth Annual Hilton Head Seafood Festival runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at Shelter Cove Community Park.

Among the restaurants participating are Alexander’s, Crazy Crab, Black Marlin, Bluffton Oyster Co., Hudson’s and Marley’s, Kenny B’s, Red Fish, and the Old Oyster Factory.

You’ll get to see the chefs face off! They’ll have to make gourmet meals from a set of mystery ingredients.

Enjoy live music from Chris Jones, The Beagles, and Mike Korbar throughout the day!

Bring your kids for and they’ll have a blast with the bounce horses and games in the Kids Only Zone.

The Seafood Festival proceeds go to the American Cancer Society. It has raised nearly $250,000 since its re-establishment after 2001.
